Thank you for your interest in attending the Macao-side English Essay Competition’s Award Ceremony.

Award Ceremony
Please join the Macau Professional Speaking Association in announcing the MEEC award recipients, group award recipients, and celebrating student voices in changing our collective future.
Location: Macao Science Center Convention Hall

Essay Sharing
First prize winners from each category will share their essays on stage.
Essay sharing will take place after awards for that category have been presented. You may choose to memorize your speech or use cue cards. If you are reading it, please print a copy of your essay or prepare it on cue cards, we do not recommend using your phone or other electronic devices.
You may come to rehearse on stage at 1 PM.
Discussion Panel
Students who are invited to join the discussion panel:
College category: First, second, and third prize winners
All other categories: First and second prize winners

After all category awards have been presented, we will invite all the above mentioned winners from all categories to go on stage and sit in our comfy chairs. Sample questions are posted below, the organizer reserves the right to modify questions without notice.
Activity 1: Show and Tell
Please bring an item that represents inclusion. You may be asked to share what the item is and why you chose it.
Activity 2: Discussion Questions
A show of hands, how many of you think it’s important to learn about SDGs?
Of the 17 SDGs, which goals do you personally care about the most?
Can you share with us the main message behind your winning essay?
What is one thing you learned through joining this competition?
Activity 3: Word Sharing
** Time permitting ** For our third activity, could you please share your favourite word that is related to inclusiveness. Please write it on the paper and when you’re done, hold it up for the audience to see. You may be asked to share what the word is and why you chose this word.
Tips
- When you speak, maintain eye contact with the audience
- Smiling will help you feel less nervous and more at ease on stage
- Share the stage and time with others
- Listen intently to the other students, if another student talked about a good idea, you can expand on that idea
- Enjoy the process! All the audience are here to support you and hear your ideas and we will all cheer for you




Essay Collection
One Free Copy. One free printed copy of the Essay Collection with all the winning works will be given to each student, school, organization or association. If you would like additional copies, you may place a pre-sale order by filling in a pre-order form separately to be picked up at our award ceremony or through 35 locations in Macao and Taipa.
